Agricultural Vehicles & Pedestrians. Good idea?

The Health & Safety Executive thinks not & says that agricultural vehicles and pedestrians must be separated where possible and that pedestrians should wear high visibility clothing to help others see you.

Pembers Farm Avenue would be seen from space if all the kids out playing were sweltering in High-Vis Jackets all summer!

We also have to remember that a Tractor Driver asked to drive along Pembers Farm Avenue is in a workplace and probably doesn’t want to be exposed to the risk of an accident or to carry that on their conscience if the worst happens. It’s not reasonable to ask it of them.

Here’s the press release for the Government’s press release on their campaign to reduce the number of deaths and serious injuries on farms. The number one cause being farm vehicles: https://press.hse.gov.uk/2023/03/13/campaign-launched-to-reduce-farm-vehicle-deaths-and-injuries/

  1. As a registered blind/severely sight impaired person the thought of such vehicles sharng a safe residential area does worry me.
I shall be objecting on this ground and the impact to our clean environment from farm vehicle activity.
